Learn a new instrument! Taiko teaches teamwork & is lots of fun!
A folk art originally from Japan, Taiko is good exercise, develops coordination & is a combination of exciting drumming rhythms, choreographed movement and martial arts-style discipline.
The instructors at the Mugen Taiko Dojo have extensive experience working with schools around the UK delivering high-quality workshop programmes. We have just completed an extensive project with West Lothian Council funded by Youth Music Initiative & Creative Scotland, leading to primary pupils' performances at Howden Park Centre. Previous projects in the area include working with East Kilbride Arts Centre, Hamilton Town House, Lesmahagow High School, Lanark Grammar.
Now for the first time, we are offering junior taiko classes at our home base in South Lanarkshire, located near Strathaven / Lesmahagow.
Wednesdays starting from Wednesday 10th May - 4pm & 5pm - "Taiko Juniors" (age 5-12) - £5 per session
