Taiko drumming combines rhythm, movement & energy. It's uplifting to play, is good for physical & mental health, and helps develop coordination & internal rhythm. Taiko promotes teamwork & is also a great stress-uster!

The beginners course is suitable for adults of all ages & abilities, and covers the basics of taiko from the stance & grip, through to learning a full taiko drum piece by the end of the 8-week course. Week-by-week, the experienced intructors guide the participants in a friendly & supportive atmosphere.

The Glasgow beginners & improvers group meets on Tuesdays 6:00 - 7.30 pm, in 8-week blocks throughout the year.

If you have previous experience in taiko, you may be interested in our "Taiko Night" group, which meets at 7.30-9.30pm on Tuesdays at the same venue, or higher-level training at our main base, the Mugen Taiko Dojo in South Lanarkshire. We also run weekend workshops & intensive courses, as well as a variety of further training.
